Loosdorf Castle (Schloß Loosdorf) is located in Lower Austria (Niederösterreich), 60 km north of Vienna. It was owned by numerous noble families after the 12th century, and in the late 18th century, the princes of Liechtenstein renovated the building and the interior to give the castle its contemporary shape. Since the 1820's, the italian-born earls Piatti have been the owners of the castle and their descendants are now living in and managing the castle.
