Beautiful porcelain collection from Asia including Japanese export porcelain known as Old-Imari, which had been collected by the Piatti Family since the 18th century, was displayed in Loosdorf Castle, 60km north of Vienna in Austria. However, most of the collection was destroyed at the end of the Second World War. The family decided not to discard the porcelain shards. Instead, they decided to treasure them as mementos, so as not to forget the tragic event until now.

About seventy years have passed after the War, and Japanese research team has investigated the porcelain shards of Loosdorf Castle. As a result, they have discovered that the Loosdorf Collection contains historically precious pieces as well as various masterpieces.

In the special exhibition "The Tragedy of Loosdorf Castle" at Okura Museum of Art in Tokyo, both the Loosdorf Castle Collection from Austria and Old-Imari wares from Japan are displayed. With the help of the latest restoration technique, various pieces have been restored from the shards to their complete forms.
